Peace Building Module: Assists Generations For Peace delegates in understanding conflict, its variables and processes, and in developing a toolkit of approaches and techniques to build peaceful solutions. Simulations and case studies help delegates plan for their own situations at home.
Working with Children and Youth Module: Provides information and practical skills on how to be an effective educator when working with children and youth coming from the communities that have or are experiencing violent and conflict situations. Delegates will learn what motivates children; how to work with children of different ages; how to build their self-esteem; how to design a sports practice or event that will include children and allow them to express themselves through fun and play; and different communication and planning skills.
Train the Trainers Module: A comprehensive guide covering the knowledge and steps needed to train other adults who can in turn train others and help cascade Generations For Peace programmes further. The module focuses on determining the community-based assets and needs that will be used when designing and implementing a training programme locally. It also provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with other adults, as well as with children and youth in their communities.
Advocacy and Partnerships Modules: Helps the Generations For Peace Pioneer communicate the goals and strategies of Generations For Peace; reach out and engage their community; establish and maintain local partnerships with different stakeholders, individuals or organisations; deal with the media; recruit and retain sponsors, role models, and volunteers; and work collaboratively with other Peace Pioneers.
Learning Facilitator’s Guide: Provides in-depth knowledge and tools enabling the delegates to become facilitators, and consequently start delivering training after the camp. Details each of the session of the camp through a ‘back-office’ view thus helping the delegates understand what will be required from them once they are planning and delivering their training programmes.
Sports Modules: Cover a range of specific sport codes, in each case providing an introduction to peace building and sport, sport specific skills, drills and game play, as well as planning a practice and a sports event. Activities focus on, and demonstrate, how sport can be used effectively to gather together children and youth from different sides of a conflict and begin to build tolerance and mutual respect. All these modules use stories, relevant examples, practical tasks and sport in its fun element, to help the delegates become competent and confident Generations For Peace Pioneers:
